Privacy Choices

Privacy and Cookies

VERSION 1 · 27 September 2026

CUMICHE is a set of static pages. There is no account to open, no form to fill in, and no comment to leave. The site asks for nothing and receives nothing that a visitor has not chosen to send.

This note records what the site does, as it actually stands today. It will be revised when that changes, and the version number below moves with it.

What the site stores on a device

One entry, and only after a choice has been made on the privacy banner: a record of that choice, kept in the browser's local storage under the name cumiche.consent. It holds the categories chosen, the moment the choice was made, and the version of this note it was made against. It carries no name, no address, no identifier, and nothing that could single out the person who made it.

Before a choice is made, nothing is written. Withdrawing consent removes the record.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies. The consent record uses local storage rather than a cookie, which means it is never attached to a request and never reaches a server.

Analytics

There is no analytics service on the site. No page counts visits, measures reading, or reports behaviour to any product. If that changes, the service will be named here, it will sit in the Analytics category, and it will not run until it has been switched on.

Third parties on the page

None. The typefaces, the stylesheets, and the photographs are all served from cumiche.com; no font service, content network, tag manager, or embedded player is loaded. Opening a page contacts this site and nothing else.

Two links do leave the site when a visitor chooses to follow them: the subscribe link in the footer, which goes to Substack, and the links in the font licences. Following a link is a visit to that company, under its own privacy terms, and CUMICHE sends nothing with it.

What the host records

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, it writes ordinary request logs, which include the visiting address and the page requested. Those logs belong to the hosting account rather than to this site's code, and they are not used to build a profile of anyone.

The exact retention period for those logs is set by Hostinger and is not visible from this codebase.

Selling and sharing

As the site stands there is no advertising, no retargeting, no attribution, and no transfer of visitor information to any other company, so there is nothing that would amount to selling or sharing personal information, or to cross-context behavioural advertising.

If any such service is ever added, it will appear in the Marketing category, it will be listed by name in this note, and it will stay off until it has been switched on.

Changing a choice

Privacy Choices, at the foot of every page, reopens this panel. A category can be switched off as easily as it was switched on, and withdrawing consent removes the stored record along with any optional storage that belonged to the categories being withdrawn.

Questions about this note

A question about anything written here can be sent to the address below.

There is nothing held on this side to ask for or to have deleted. The consent record described above is written into the visitor’s own browser and never reaches the site, and it can be cleared at any time from Privacy Choices at the foot of every page. The ordinary request logs the host keeps are covered under What the host records.
